This unique iGMS tool is designed to control the visibility of listings on platforms for a specific period of time. Stealth Mode allows you to set your listings targeting more carefully and control who can see and book the property whenever you want it.
Note that the feature is available for Airbnb listings only. Besides, it helps you to adhere to Airbnb regulations if you have an Airbnb annual nights limit in your city.
Why Should You Use Stealth Mode?
In the short-term rental business, you need to reach your target audience at the right time. For example, you might be interested in hiding the property from Airbnb or HomeAway platforms during business hours and revealing it again in the evening or during the weekend when it is more likely to be seen by guests. It is a solution for hosts who are located in a different time zone than their guests so that the property will only be showing when they are ready to communicate with them. In all these cases Stealth Mode works perfectly for your benefit.
You should always keep in mind how specific regulations work in your city. This might limit the number of nights hosts are permitted to rent out their properties in some locations. In that case, Stealth Mode can help you to control the visibility of your listings and adhere to these rules.
How to Activate Stealth Mode?
To activate Stealth Mode, proceed to Properties and select the one for which you want to enable Stealth Mode. In Property Editor, click on the ‘Stealth Mode’ tab and enable the toggle.
Here you can change the setting for Stealth Mode. Just choose on which day of the week the listing should be hidden. You can make your listing invisible for the entire day or just for a specific time. You can also decide whether to apply the settings to all of the days or just choose specific days. After you’ve made all the settings, click on ‘Save’.
When you activate Stealth Mode, your property will be visible on iGMS but will be labelled ‘STEALTH MODE‘ in Accounts & Listings, Booking Calendar and Listing Editor. The property that’s in Stealth Mode can still be managed on a regular basis, and you will be able to communicate with guests or manage the cleanings.
Important: Please take into account that Stealth Mode will observe the time zone of the property.
How to Deactivate Stealth Mode?
To disable the Stealth Mode feature, just toggle it off in the Stealth Mode tab. All your listings will again be visible 24/7 and you can easily check it on Airbnb or HomeAway.
Things to Keep in Mind
- If you have grouped listings from Airbnb and HomeAway via Channel Manager in the Property Editor under one body, you won’t be able to turn on the Stealth Mode for one specific listing. The property group will share these common settings.
- If you want to enable multiple channels for several listings and one of them has already activated the Stealth Mode, this visibility setting would then be automatically activated for all the channels. For example, you have activated Stealth Mode for an Airbnb listing. This listing would also be hidden on HomeAway and vice versa.
- If you want to disable Stealth Mode for a specific listing involved in the properties’ group, you might need to ungroup them and then define the settings individually.
- You can also boost your Airbnb listing ranking using the Stealth Mode feature.
